Abstract:
ICTs are quickly shifting the traditional landscapeof how people work, invent, fund new enterprises, andcreate new artistic works.Yet the truth is that ICTs are as much changing our world as

they are creating new realities, the threshold between here (analogue) and there (digital) is fast becoming blurred, but this is asmuch to the advantage of the latter as it is of the former. The digital is spillingover into the analogue and merging with it.
In this paper, I will talk about the community of translators in the virtual sphere, and describe how they collaborate and organize their work, the motivations behind their volunteer work, copyright and legal issues, and how their professionals see their activity.This paper will also examine the case of Twitter translation center and the Moutarjam project as two examples of a not-for-profitvolunteer translation facilitators, and I will explore how The Moutarjam project and Twitter translation center might better motivate volunteers to contributetheirskills and expertise.
