"Preparation, in co-ordina tion viith UNESCO and other specialized agencies concerned, for the setting up of a regional centre for the interpretation of aerial surveys, and another for training in photogrammetry and airborne geophysical prospecting."2. View of the need expressed by many developing countries for train- ing competent technical personnel in various branches of modern surveying and mapping to strengthen and--·developthe capabilityof __their resPElctive nat10nal oartographic serVices, and in View of the wide application of the above-mentioned cartographio tEichn:l.~ues, not only
in
the study and exploita- tion of natural resouroes but also in other economic and social projeots, such as urban and rural development, land resettlement, road and railroad construction, air and nautioal naVigation improvement, agrioultural develop- ment eto., the Conference may wish to consider the proposed regional projects in the light of information brought forward by participants on eXistingfacilities in the continent and on immediate and long-range requirements of such training.
