Astrocytic TSPO Upregulation Appears Before Microglial TSPO in Alzheimer's Disease
TOURNIER, Benjamin, et al.
Abstract
In vivo PET/SPECT imaging of neuroinflammation is primarily based on the estimation of the 18 kDa-translocator-protein (TSPO). However, TSPO is expressed by different cell types which complicates the interpretation.

Supplementary Figure 1. Aβ deposits are predominant in the hippocampus in 12-month- old TgF344-AD. Examples of amyloid staining as detected by A4G8-ir in different regions of the brain (A) and the respective quantitative analysis (B). Amyloid staining was analyzed by one-way ANOVA. Post hoc tests indicate brain area differences (★★ p<0.01). BRes., brain residue; Cer., cerebellum; Cx, cortex; FCx, frontal cortex; Hip, hippocampus; Stria., striatum.
