CANADIAN GUIDANCE AND COUN SELLING ASSOCIATION
OBJECTIVES
I. To be alert to the basic philosophies under lying educational, economic and social goals, especially as they relate to the indi vidual's freedom and responsibility, and to keep in the forefront of developments in human understanding;
2. To foster the interests and endeavours of all those who are engaged in guidance and counselling by promoting contacts amongst diverse persons, agencies, organizations. professional associations, businesses and institutions participating directly and ac tively in the work of educational, vocation al, and personal guidance and counselling for youth and adults;
3. To provide facilities for an exchange of information relating to guidance and coun selling;
4. To work toward the development and co ordination of existing guidance and coun selling services;
5. To work through community and private agencies and governmental and education al authorities, and collaborate with other professional associations towards improved conditions, resources, research and facili ties for guidance and counselling;
6. To provide an official voice for Canada in international associations and conferences relating to guidance and counselling.

S'alerter aux principes qui sont it la base des tendances educationnelles, economiques et sociales, particulierement lorsque ces mani festations touchent it la liberte et it la re sponsabilite de l'individu et se maintenir it I'avant-garde des progres dans Ie domaine de la comprehension de I'humain. 2. Encourager les efforts et les interets de tous
ceux qui sont engages dans I'orientation et Ie counselling en favorisant les contacts entre les personnes. agences, organismes. associations profession nelles, institutions commerciales, industrielles et autres qui participent directement et activement it I'orientation et it la consultation chez les jeunes et chez les ad ultes it des fi ns educa tives, personnelles ou professionnelles. 3. Fournir des moyens d'echange d'informa
tion dans les domaines de I'orientation et de la consultation.
4. Travailler it l'expansion et it la coordina tion des services d'orientation et de con sultation existants.
5. Travailler it I'amelioration des conditions, des ressources, de la recherche et des ser vices en orientation et en consultation en collaboration avec les agences communau taires et privees, les autorites gouverne mentales et educationnelles et les associa tions professionnelles.
6. Fournir au Canada une voix officielle dans
les associations et conferences internation ales d'orientation et de consultation.
