FUTURS
SEVERAL WAYS TO SPEAK ABOUT FUTURE :
French and English languages sometimes work in very different ways.
But, as far as future tense is concerned, they quite agree.
In French, like in English, 3 ways to express a future idea can be used:
- use of the Present tense (we will not come back to this in this lesson) (often used in programmes, timetables)
Ex: The train for Paris leaves at 5pm Le train pour Paris part à 17h
- use of the verb « to go » and « aller » Ex: I'm going to visit Spain in a few months
Je vais visiter l'Espagne dans quelques mois
- use of a proper future tense (with « will » in english / specific endings in French) Ex: I will arrive at 6 . What time will you arrive?
J' arriverai à 6h . Tu arriveras à quelle heure ?
je vais
tu vas
Il / elle va
nous allons
vous allez
Ils vont
ALLER - Présent
ALLER A LA + nom féminin ALLER AU + nom masculin ex: Je vais à la plage / a la fête Je vais au travail / au restaurant
Je vais a l’école / a l’aéroport
Salut Tom, salut Charlotte, Vous allez où ?
Nous allons à la plage.
Et toi, tu vas où ?
Moi, je vais chez moi, A plus !

UN AUTRE FUTUR...
PHONÉTIQUE : LE « E » MUET
One of the difficulties with French pronunciation is that it is not a phonetic language, just like English the unaccented E is sometimes "unstressed"; that is, it sometimes* disappears in spoken French.
At the end of a word, possibly followed by other silent letters : les femmes parlent beaucoup
In spoken french, this « e » muet can't be always silent : every other sound; But not more; Listen to the different ways to say : Je ne sais pas
Je ne sais pas : Jx ne sais pas / Je nx sais pas
