• Many students did not apply potential vortex theory to find the radius of maximum

velocity (P8.15).

• Few students did not solve part (b) of P8.37.

• Many students used wrong data in P8.44. Specifically, calculating the velocity in

P8.43 was required by the statement of P8.44; students instead, assumed a value for that and also used the wrong pressure.

• Some students did not calculate the lift (P8.44).

• 22% of undergraduate students attempted to solve the comprehensive problem.
