The aftermath of the American financial crisis (2007-2008) has been so severe and widespread to the extent that it has impacted almost, all spheres relating to economics and business domains. One of the areas that have been touched by this impact is the economics and finance curricula at many Universities and colleges around the globe. This study analyses four initiatives that have been taken in this direction. The main objective of the investigation is to explore the reality of such initiatives; what are they? What do they stand for? What are some of the implications and relevance of the initiatives to the development of Islamic economics and finance teaching and curricula? What recommendations can be drawn from the efforts of these initiatives?
