Abstract

In this paper, we study the effects of environmental risk on cooperation. We compare a treatment with individual risk to a treatment with collective risk. We find no difference in contributions in these treatments with respect to the standard setting of public good in which the personal return from the public good is deterministic, homogeneous and publicly known.

Théroude, V. (2018). Heterogeneity in Public Good Games: a survey Short

Abstract

In this paper, I survey the literature on heterogeneity in linear public good games. I distinguish two kinds of heterogeneity: heterogeneity in MPCR and heterogeneity in endowment. I find, in most articles, no differences in standard patterns of cooperation whatever the kind of heterogeneity. However, standard efficiency- enhancing mechanisms do not allow agents with heterogeneity in MPCR to reach full provision.

Théroude, V. (2018). A competition for the Greater Good: introducing a tourna- ment logic in public goods provision

Short Abstract

In this paper, I study the effects of competition on the provision of public goods.

Agents compete for a privileged access to the public good (a better MPCR).

Competition increases contributions and does not necessarily increase inequalities.
