DR/'FT INTERNATIONAL SANITARY REGULATIONS

Proposal for the machinery to review the

functioning of the International Sanitary Regulations and the settlement of disputes arising therefrom

presented by Dr. Raja, Delegate f o r India

(a) The appropriate Expert Committee of the World Health Organization should,

•with the assistance of the Organization's Expert Panels and of WHO Secretariat and with such legal assistance as may be required in individual cases, perform the functions of a periodic review of the Regulations and of settlement of disputes f o r which the majority opinion of the Working Party has suggested the establishment of an International Sanitary Commission.

(b) In view of paragraph (2) of Resolution WHA 2.15 of the Second World Health Assembly a l l disputes, which are not resolved by the machinery proposed under

(a) above, shall be referred to the World Health Assembly.
