Resolution 133(VII) adopted by the Commission at its 125th plenary meeting on 22 February 1965

The Economic Commission fer Africa,

Noting with satisfaction the coming into force on 10 September 1964 of the Agreement establishing the African Development Bank and the

establishment of the Bank by the Board of Governors at its first meeting in Lagos from 3 to

7

November 1964,

Convinced of the role the Bank will play in promoting the economic and social development of Africa,

1. Expresses appreciation to the Committee of Nine for its role in carrying out resolution 52 (IV) of 1 March 1962;

2. Thanks the Executive Secretary for his assistance to the Committee of Nine, the Conference of Finance Ministers, and the first meeting . f the Board of Governors;

3. Expresses gratitud~to the Secretary-General of the United Nations for his role as trustee of the Bank;

4. Expresses gratitude to the Special Fund, the IBRD and other international organizations for the help they have given towards the establishment of the African Development Bank;
