Dear Eve,

First of all I have to say congratulations on your position as the Director of Hove Museum of Contemporary Art! I am so happy it all finally happened!

It has taken so many years, so many demonstrations, but it has been worth all our efforts. As you know, my dear son arrives from Baghdad on Friday, where he is curating a show, he now can join us for the wine served at the opening of the museum, instead of the apple juice he got at the very first workshop we did.

He was then just about to be five. How time has passed!

Remember, those were the times when the museums that did exist, rarely bought work made by women artists. Yes, there were ways of getting by with grants and such, and certainly there was no lack of exposure for me and many of my female friends. But I’d ask myself “All this work for nothing-when my son is grown up he won’t be able to see our work on display anywhere.” He must have thought:” After all of that, where can I possibly go to see any of all of the work that she made back then?” But things finally changed.

So with this letter, I am in the position to donate the film “Call for a

Demonstration” and my thumbed, personal copy of the book that onestar press published, to the Hove Museum of Contemporary Art and we are all so happy to be able to see great art here, made by women and men
