The entrance of the "Passage des Panoramas" in Paris circa 1820. The passage was built in 1799 on the former site of the Montmorency-Luxembourg private hotel. The name was given after the installation of two low towers (destroyed in 1831), visible on the picture, where panoramic views representing landscapes of large cities were presented.
