CONTRIBUTORS TO THIS ISSUE

Harold Don Allen, a McGiII Science graduate, has a Moster of Science in the Teaehlng of Mathematlcs (Santa Clara) and a Mostar of Education (Rutgers). He was on staff at the Mathematics Summer Institute at Macdonald College in 1968 and is currently at Rutgers University. L. ·Bruce Barkman earned his Ph.D. in Linguistics at Georgetown University.

He has taught French, Spanish and English as second languages and OOs trained teachers of English as a Second Language in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Dr. Borkman Is now an Assistant Professor of Engllsh at the Université de Montréal.

John Colom, Ph.D. (Columbla),is Director of Teachers College Press, Lecturer in History and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, and writer of the "New Books" sectian ln the education issues of Saturday Review. He was farmerly a member of McGIII's Institute af Education. W. J. Gushue, Associa te Professar of Education at Memorial University,

re-celved his formai education at Memorial and Boston Universities. Dr. Gushue did most of the research for the present paper on McLuhan while on sabbatical at O.I.S.E. last yeor.

T. J. Mallinson, Ph.D., Is Director of Simon Fraser's Communications Centre. Gerald T. Rimmingtoft, M.A. (Leicester), Ph.D. (London), is Director of

Educa-tional Research, Brandon University. He is co-author of Malawi: A Geographical Study (Oxford University Press) and of A Dynamic Social Studies (ta be published early 1969 by McGraw-Hili of Canada). John E. O'Brien, 5.J., gained his Ph.D. trom the University of Southern

Cali-fornia. He is Associate Professor and Chairman, Department of Com-munication Arts at loyola College, Montreal.

James J. Shields, Ed.D. (Columbia) is Associate Professor at City College, N.V.

Dr. Shields' publications include Education in Community Davelopment - Ih fundion in Technical Assistance (reviewed M.J.E., III, 1) and Problems and Prospects in Intemational Education (reviewed M.J.E. III, 2).

Paddy Webb teaches fnglish in McGill's Faculty of Education. Additional bic-graphical notes appear on p. 29.
