SUBJECT Comments on A.S.A. 221.21 -1952:
Listing Requirements for Automatic Valves for Gas Appliances; and A.S.A. Z2l.37 - 1948: Approval Requirements for Dual Oven Type
Combination Gas Ranges.
The above A.S.A. specifications have been reviewed as a basis for the preparation of corresponding eSA specifications. All references to American Standards are listed below, with information on existing Canadian Standards where these exist. Reference is made also to items which are potentially in conflict with-existing Canadian codes such as the National Building Code, 1953. All specified temperatures (except oven operating tempera-tures) are listed as a convenience in further consideration of these specifications.

There appears to be general agreement between the above two works and the National Building Code.
The NoBoG. does not detail metal composition, sheet thick= nesses and temperatures as do the American Standards o The American Standards permit a higher surface temperature on adjacent walls than is allowable under the NoB.Co
The NoBoCo requirements for controls for gas firing, item
6.2.3.8.5
may be stricter than in エィセ American StandardoNote, for example, the last paragraph of this section requiring shut-off upon drop in pressure with liquefied petroleum gases.
