 As of 24-March-2020, there were 372757 total confirmed cases and 16231 total deaths with a resultant increase of 10.7% and 27% respectively in the last 24 hours

 172 countries/Regions are affected of which 45 are in Africa region including Ethiopia

WHAT IS THE SITUATION IN ETHIOPIA

NDRMC activated the National Emergency Opera- tion Centre

UNCT meeting today with key action points:

In Africa, there is cumulative total of 1,792 confirmed cases and 64 deaths with a case fatality rate of 3.6%.

•The deaths

were reported by Egypt (20), Algeria (19), Morocco (05) Burki- na Faso (04), Tunisia (04), Ghana (2), DRC (02), Mauritius (02), Cameroon (01), Niger (01), Gambia (01), Sudan (01), Gabon (01) and Nigeria (01)

 Take preventive measures extremely seriously

 Avoid hand-shake and hugging at all times

 Wash hands frequently with soap and water or use an alcohol base hand rub

 Get information from reliable sources only

 Signs and symptoms of COVID-19 are: Fever, Cough, Sore throat, Difficulty in breathing and other flu like symptoms such as running nose and sneezing

 The public is advised to report any suspected cases to the nearest health facility or call 8335 or +251929908433
