Ce papier examine l'impact de la fiscalité et du comportement de l'entourage sur la décision individuelle de travailler sur le marché régulier et sur le marché irrégulier. Un modèle théorique d'offre de travail est développé. Nous spécifions ensuite une fonction d'utilité quadratique afin d'imposer un minimum de structure aux préférences individuelles. Les estimations des paramètres de cette fonction d'utilité sont obtenus par la méthode du maximum de vraisemblance à information complète. Nous estimons un système d'équations simultanées comprenant en particulier les heures de travail sur chacun des deux marchés, le revenu ''virtuel'' hors-travail, le salaire net sur le marché régulier et le salaire espéré sur le marché irrégulier. Nous procédons aux estimations économétriques sur données individuelles canadiennes tirées d'une enquête menée en 1994. Nos résultats confirment l'hypothèse de comportement interdépendant dans le choix de l'activité et la présence d'interactions sociales dans les décisions.

This paper investigates the impact of tax system and interdependent behaviour on the individual decision to work in the regular and irregular labour markets. We first develop a theoretical labour supply model and in order to impose a minimum structure of preferences, we specify a quadratique utility function. The parameter estimates are estimated from full information maximum likelihood method. We estimate a simultaneous equation system corresponding to hours worked in both market, virtual non-wage income, regular net wage and expected irregular wage. We proceed to econometric estimations on a unique microdata set from randomized survey conducted in Canada during 1994. Our results confirm the interdependent behaviour hypothesis in the choice of activity and the existence of social interactions in the decision.
