Abstract

Compounds belonging to the large family of phosphate and arsenate with general formula AM4M’3O21 (A = K; M = Nb, W, Mo and M’ = P, As) have been of continuing interest due to their structural and physical properties [1–2].

Their physical and chemical properties allow applications in the fields of electronics, magnetism and catalysis [3 –4].

This work reports the attempt to substitute the phosphor by arsenic and the tungsten by molybdenum. The substitution has succeeded and the structure of the resulting, having composition KNb4 MoAs3O18 has been characterized by SEM, XRD and compared with compound KNb4WP3O21. The material has also been prepared as a powder phase, in order to measure its electric characteristic.
