PAYS DE LANGUE NÉERLANDAIS E Compte-rend u
Geert Grootes tractaat « Contra Turrim Traiectensem teruggevonden « ,
uitgegeven door R. R . Post, 's-Gravenhage, Martinus Nijhoff, 1967 . During almost six centuries this treatise of Geert Grote has been lost . Some years ago it was found and now we have to thank Prof . Post for a useful and attractive, though not faultless edition .
While one cannot but admire the patience and skill, that were required to read the very difficult manuscript, to write the clea r introduction and the Dutch translation, it is to be regretted tha t the Latin text is the weakest part of this edition .
The manuscript is very difficult indeed and the misreadings ar e few, but in some cases the reader should have been warned that th e text as edited is hardly Latin, even Medieval Latin .
