L’espèce Euphorbia gaditana Coss. a déjà fait l’objet d’une seule étude phytochimique en 2017. Cette étude a particulièrement porté sur l’extrait éther de pétrole des parties aériennes de la plante, conduisant à l’isolement par HPLC et la caractérisation par RMN multi-impulsionnelle et la spectrométrie de masse de deux nouveaux composés diterpéniques macrocycliques (146) et polycyclique (147) : un dérivé de jatrophane et son analogue tétracyclique nommé gaditanone (Figure I.19) (Flores-Giubi et al., 2017).
