6.2 Transfert des connaissances

En plus de bénéficier d’un financement du CERSSPL-UL, ce projet a été accepté et présenté à l’occasion de diverses conférences scientifiques, incluant la dixième conférence internationale sur la décision partagée. Afin d’assurer la continuité du transfert des connaissances, cette étude fera l’objet d’un article scientifique qui sera soumis à un journal avec comité de lecture. Les résultats de cette

étude permettront aux instances du réseau de la santé de mieux planifier des programmes visant à soutenir les proches aidants des personnes âgées en pertes d’autonomie.

Conclusion

Cette étude a révélé que les proches aidants prenant une décision dans le contexte du milieu de vie pour les personnes âgées en perte d’autonomie cognitive rapportent en moyenne un faible niveau de regret décisionnel. Cependant, plus de la moitié de ces proches aidants rapporte un certain niveau de regret décisionnel. Nous avons identifié des facteurs influençant le regret au sein de cette population. Certains de ces facteurs pourraient être potentiellement modifiables, ce qui permettrait l’utilisation des stratégies d'atténuation des risques dans cette population spécifique. Par conséquent, notre étude confirme la nécessité de transformer les connaissances concernant les facteurs de risque du regret en stratégies utiles pouvant réduire la détresse psychologique des proches aidants. Ces résultats semblent établir un axe de recherche prometteur sur l’amélioration de l’expérience des proches aidants ainsi que sur l’identification d’un seuil clinique significatif pour l’ÉRD.

Éthiques et confidentialité

Un aspect important de toutes études portant sur des sujets humains est la considération éthique. Ce projet de recherche est une analyse secondaire du projet DOLCE. Le projet DOLCE a eu l’approbation du Comité d'éthique de la recherche du CHU de Québec. Tous les participants du projet ont donné leur consentement. Les participants de cette étude ont été les proches aidants des personnes âgées jugées inaptes à donner un consentement éclairé.
