2.4 Recherche
- que 1 ' on poursuive des recherches sur 1 ' influence du père sur
le développement psychologique de sa fille. Suite à cette
thèse, certaines questions sont demeuréees sans réponse.
Elles pourraient peut-être faire l'objet de futures études:
- y a-t-il vraiment des messages doubles véhiculés entre un père et sa fille?

- ces messages doubles provoquent-ils un conflit de rôles et une faible estime de soi chez la fille?
- que dans le cadre d'une étude phénoménologique, des chercheurs
rencontrent quelques femmes en entrevue et permettent à celles-ci d'explorer en profondeur comment leur vécu de femme
adulte et plus spécifiquement leur estime de soi, a pu être
influencé par leur relation avec leur père,
- que dans le cadre d'une étude phénoménologique, des chercheurs
rencontrent quelques hommes en entrevue et permettent à ceux-ci d'explorer leur vécu de père et l'influence qu'ils croient avoir eu sur leur fille,
- qu'une étude soit faite pour comparer les perceptions qu'ont
les pères de la relation père-fille et le vécu décrit par les filles.
La liste de ces recommandations pourrait s'allonger encore longtemps ... à chacun sa responsabilité de mettre en pratique, dans son propre milieu de travail, ce qui correspond le mieux à la clientèle visée.

Plutôt de jouer les "victimes", les filles peuvent prendre cons
cience que les pères sont après tout des personnes venues à elles en tant que produits de leur temps et de leur expérience, avec pour elles, des
rêves et des espoirs auxquels, peut-être, elles ne croient pas. Ces
filles peuvent aussi prendre conscience que leurs pères ont probablement fait le mieux qu'ils pouvaient pour elles et que ces hommes, tout comme ces filles, ont été piégés dans les rôles promulgués par la tradition.
Quand on donnera aux hommes la permission d'aimer et d'exprimer ce qu'ils ressentent, les pères seront capables de "paterner" leurs filles et
leurs fils. Leurs fils pourront alors devenir des pères chaleureux et
affectueux avec leurs propres filles. Les filles seront ainsi capables de s'aimer elles-mêmes.
Maurice Champagne-Gilbert vient d'accepter de s'impliquer dans le
dossier famille du gouvernement québécois. Il collaborera à la rédaction
d'une politique québécoise de la famille. Maurice Champagne-Gilbert a
déjà dénoncé, dans ses écrits et lors de conférences, le pouvoir social mâle et les rôles destructeurs que ce pouvoir a maintenu entre les hommes

délivrer du pouvoir à montrer comment on peut répondre aux besoins de la
personne et libérer la famille de ce qui l'aliène dans la société. Sa
récente nomination nous permet d'avoir confiance en l'avenir et d'espérer que les recommandations formulées dans cette thèse deviendront bientôt réalité. D'ailleurs, hommes et femmes sont de plus en plus conscients des conditionnements dont ils ont été victimes. Suite au mouvement féministe, les groupes d'hommes se multiplient pour stimuler réflexion et chan
gements. L'androgynie est apprivoisée et de mieux en mieux acceptée.
