L’objectif de ce travail était de réaliser une revue systématique de littérature ainsi qu’une méta analyse, sur l’efficacité des différentes procédures d’implantation d’anneaux intra cornéens dans le kératocône, sur les travaux publiés au cours de ces 10 dernières années (2007 à 2016).
L’implantation d’anneaux intra cornéens constitue une niche thérapeutique et les études réalisées au cours de ces dernières années ne possèdent pas de grandes cohortes de patients. L’intérêt de réaliser une méta-analyse sur ce sujet est d’augmenter la puissance des résultats sur l’efficacité des AIC dans cette indication, en regroupant l’ensemble des séries de cas publiées dans la littérature.
Pour juger de l’efficacité des anneaux intra cornéens, nous avons comparé l’évolution des paramètres réfractifs, kératométriques, de l’acuité visuelle de loin corrigée et non corrigée entre le temps pré-opératoire et le dernier rendez vous de contrôle post-opératoire.
De plus, nous avons évalué l’intérêt de cette procédure seule ou en association aux différentes techniques complémentaires possibles, afin de déterminer si elles entrainaient de meilleurs résultats réfractifs, visuels ou kératométriques.
3 procédures complémentaires ont été comparées à la pose seule d’AIC :
-‐ Le cross-linking du collagène.
-‐ La photokeratectomie réfractive.
