NOTES ON THE CONVERSATION

Among the many items sold in souvenir shops are the popular traditional handcrafts of Puerto Rican artisans. A varied collection of santos (small religious figures carved of wood), ceramics, lace, baskets, hammocks, and jewelry are commonly found in these shops. Musical instruments such as maracas and guitars are also popular tourist items.
