Ces résultats sont résumés dans le Tableau III-5. Graphite HOPG (cm-1) Diamant IIa (cm-1) Carbure de silicium (SiC) (cm-1) 1581 1332 791 2450 2670 968 2690 2725 3247 Tableau III-5: Caractéristiques Raman pour les échantillon références: graphite HOPG, le diamant IIa et le carbure de silicium L’exploitation des données XPS consiste à déterminer la position et l’intensité des différentes contributions qui forment le spectre de photoémission pris avec notre appareil et de le comparer avec les positions trouvées par l’ensemble de la communauté scientifique. La quantification des carbones hybridés sp2 et sp3 se révèle très difficile. Néanmoins nous avons observé, dans nos conditions, un déplacement chimique de 0,4 à 0,5 eV entre le carbone sp3du diamant et le carbone sp2du graphite et nous pourrions sans doute utiliser cette propriété pour analyser pour la suite de cette thèse, au moins semi-qualitativement, la qualité des films de diamant formés. L’écart mesuré entre l’énergie de liaison Si2p et C1s dans le carbure de silicium sera utilisé pour interpréter nos spectres. La contamination de la surface des échantillons (oxydation, pollution) se traduit par l’apparition de pics et différentes évolutions spectrales en particulier pour les niveaux C1s. Il s’est avéré que le bombardement ionique à l’argon, modifie la surface et provoque un élargissement et un déplacement des pics, faussant ainsi l’interprétation de ces pics. Pour cela, dans la suite de notre étude, les analyses XPS sur des échantillons de diamant sont réalisées sans traitement préalable. Le Tableau III-6 illustre les différents résultats XPS obtenus sur les énergies de liaison pour les échantillons références. Ces valeurs seront utilisées par la suite pour décomposer nos spectres.
