3.5 Conclusion
La microstructure d’électrode joue un rôle clé sur l’allure des voltammogrammes
de l’électrode LSCF/CGO sous air à haute température et aussi sur la variation
de la résistance en série R
savec le potentiel appliqué.
Pour LSCF avec une faible surface spécifique (LSCF dense), les voltammogrammes
expérimentaux et simulés à l’aide du modèle complet de la réaction de l’électrode à oxygène
sont presque similaires à ceux obtenus pour un composé d’intercalation avec les pics
cathodiques et anodiques symétriques. Parallèlement, R
saugmente avec la polarisation
cathodique. Ces résultats ont été attribués au changement de la stœchiométrie en oxygène
dans LSCF, dû au transfert des lacunes d’oxygène à l’interface LSCF/CGO et au transport par
diffusion dans LSCF suivie d’une faible vitesse d’échange de l’oxygène à l’interface
LSCF/gaz.

Pour une couche poreuse, les voltammogrammes sont identiques à la courbe de
polarisation (ou réponse stationnaire) et R
sne varie pas avec le potentiel appliqué. Ces
résultats ont été interprétés en termes de haute surface spécifique de LSCF qui entraine une
cinétique d’échange rapide de l’oxygène par réaction chimique à l’interface LSCF/gaz.
La pression partielle d’oxygène influe fortement sur la réponse voltammétrique du
matériau. Là encore, les résultats ont été interprétés en termes de vitesse d’échange d’oxygène
à l’interface LSCF/CGO qui diminue avec la diminution de p(O
2). La nature des pics et leur
attribution au changement de concentration en lacunes dans LSCF ont été confirmés par les
résultats de modélisation.
La limitation de la voltammétrie, due à des variations possibles de R
sen cours
d’expérience, a été soulignée pour l’étude de l’électrode LSCF/CGO. Ce phénomène pourrait
être proposé comme l’origine de l’hystérésis inverse observée dans certains cas sur les
voltammogrammes.
