Diante dos dados apresentados, observou-se que os pacientes com AVC crônico, não tinham conhecimento satisfatório sobre a terminologia, sinais de alerta e complicações do AVC, não tinham conhecimento e não realizavam o posicionamento adequado do membro e as transferências, porém, tinham conhecimento e realizavam as manobras de alongamento.

A partir disso, vê-se a grande necessidade de implementar políticas públicas que levem à população informações sobre o AVC. Aos sobreviventes, orientações sobre posicionamento, realização de alongamentos e transferência são evidentes na reeducação funcional e preservação do quadro clínico subsequente ao tratamento fisioterapêutico ambulatorial.

A falta de consciência pública sobre sinais de alerta de AVC e fatores de risco devem ser tratados como uma importante contribuição para a redução da mortalidade e morbidade por AVC. Assim, torna-se necessária a conscientização dos profissionais da área de saúde para elaboração de trabalhos científicos e implementação de programas desenvolvidos pelo governo visando a melhoria da qualidade de vida da população.
