Answering the Configuration File Questions
This section describes each of the configuration file questions that you are asked on the screen. The cursor is positioned under the supplied answer for each question. To answer a question, just type your answer and press the Enter key. The screen then displays the next question. If you want the supplied answer, just press the Enter key.
If you make a typing error, an error message appears on the bottom of the screen. Press the Enter key to continue. See Appendix A for information on error messages.
When you press Enter from the summary screen you see all of the following question screens.

• Select option 1 if your modem is not capable of full-duplex operation. This is the supplied answer. Option 1 may also be selected for any modem that is capable of full-duplex operation.
Although the IBM Personal Computer cannot use full-duplex operation with SNA communications, you can use a full-duplex modem.
• Select option 2 only if your modem is capable of full-duplex operation and supports constant request to send. Selecting option 2 improves performance by decreasing line turnaround time.

On this screen, you can enter your automatic readfile name. The readfile name can consist of an optional drive designation, an alphanumeric name containing 1 to 8 characters, and an optional filename extension, for example, [d:lfilename[.ext]. You are not required to enter an automatic readfile name.
If you specify an automatic readfile here, RJE will process your readfile as an initial command. See the section "Command Processing" in Chapter 8 for further information.

Enter five hexadecimal digits for the station ID.
You should contact your host system programmer for the station ID.
Note: If your host does not use station IDs on a leased line, set this field to hex 00000.
