Colloque international
international symposium
10-12 septembre 2oo8
auditorium du musée
Grenoble (France)
What makes an atmosphere and how is it created ?
The topic of architectural and urban atmosphere has been the focus of new interest since1990. Today, the conceiving and managing ambiances in the build spaces requires more than just juxtaposing technical proces- ses and regulatory measures. On one hand new interdisciplinary researches or studies have been carried out.
On the other hand, a huge stock of know-how is exercised every day in the field of architectural production, as it is in design and contemporary art.
At the symposium, architects, planners, landscape and environmental designers, artists, specialists in neuro- cognition, philosophers and sociologists will suggest answers, talk about and compare their experience and raise questions prompted by current practices in the built developed space.
The international symposium will be the first step towards launching an interdisciplinary and multiprofessional network already interesting more than 60 countries caring for an architecture of quality and sustainable development.
