IN MEMORIAM DAVID GOTTLIEB 1944–2008

We note with sadness the passing of a long-time member of the Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Analysis editorial board: Professor David Gottlieb, of Brown University, died in the early morning of Decem- ber 6, 2008. David was a wonderful person, a wonderful colleague, and a wonderful mathematician. David will be missed greatly. We shall honor and remember David in a future special issue of Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Analysis.
