This volume represents the proceedings of the 1st International Workshop on Informatics & Data-Driven Medicine, held in Lviv, Ukraine, in November, 2018. It comprises 30 contributed papers that were carefully peer-reviewed and selected from 53 submissions.

Preface

It is our pleasure to present you the proceedings of 1st International Workshop on Informatics & Data-Driven Medicine, held in Lviv (Ukraine) on November 28-29, 2018.

The main purpose of the IDDM workshop is a discussion of the recent research results in all areas of Computer Sciences in Medicine, Medical Data Retrieval, Finding the Hidden Associations within the full set of data and Intelligent Systems Development.

The workshop is soliciting literature review, survey and research papers including, whilst not limited to, the following areas of interest:

 Information retrieval;

 Artificial intelligence;

 Information extraction;

 Data mining and data analysis;

 High dimensional approximation, probability, and statistical learning;

 Machine learning approaches for Biomedical Engineering;

 Biomedical image analysis and understanding;

 Methods in natural language processing and text-mining applied to medical records;

 Methods for using ontologies for the annotation and indexing of unstructured content as well as semantic web technologies;

 Computational intelligence in Medicine.

The workshop joined scientists from Ukraine, Germany, France, Austria, Sweden, England, Turkey, Slovak Republic, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Spain, Serbia, Tunisia, Denmark, Poland, India, Oman, Iraq, Russia and Macedonia together with practical doctors.

The language of IDDM Workshop is English. The workshop took the form of oral and poster presentations of peer-reviewed regular papers.

The Organizing Committee received 53 submissions, out of which 30 were accepted for presentation as a regular papers. These papers were published in this volume of IDDM 2018 proceedings.

The workshop would not have been possible without the support of many people. First of all, we would like to thank our partners Ukrainian Regional Chapter of the International Neural Network Society and Global-Logic Ukraine. We would like to thank the Program Chairs, organization staff, the members of the Technical Program Committees and external reviewers for their excellent and tireless work. We sincerely wish that all attendees benefited scientifically from the workshop and wish them every success in their research. It is the humble wish of the workshop organizers that the professional dialogue among the researchers, scientists, engineers and doctors continues beyond the event and that the friendships and collaborations forged will linger and prosper for many years to come.
