Preface

The MoDeVVA workshop series brings together researchers and practitioners interested in the application of validation and verification (V&V) techniques in model-driven engineering (MDE). The main goals of the workshop are to identify, discuss, and elaborate on mutual impacts of MDE and V&V.

The 13th edition of MoDeVVA took place on the 3rd of October 2016 and was co-located with MODELS16 in Saint-Malo, France. Ten papers were submitted and seven papers were accepted for presentation at the workshop after a careful peer- reviewing process with many discussions. Each paper was reviewed by at least three members of the program committee, whom we thank for their efforts.

In addition to the presentations of the papers selected by the program committee, MoDeVVA 16 featured an invited presentation by Benoit Combemale who is an Associate Professor at the Engineering School ESIR of the University of Rennes (France). The presentation was entitled “Dynamic Validation &

Verification in Language-Oriented Modeling”.

We perceive a trend in the community towards order-aware semantic technologies in works such as: top-k query answering techniques for Linked Data, SPARQL query answering on RDF
