It is run on a non-proﬁ t basis with a public service mission, and offers 170 study programmes.

A university open to Europe and the world

The Université Catholique de Lille makes international and intercultural education one of its priorities, to promote international openness among its students. The univer- sity has signed cooperation agreements with 405 partner universities throughout the world; each year over 4,000 students go to study or complete a work placement abroad, while it welcomes 2,600 students from 120 countries, half of them on exchange pro- grammes. In June and July every year since 2001, it has organised a European Summer Programme which grows more success- ful with every passing year. The university

The Career Centre is managed by a team of professional advisors who can tell students about how hiring and career building works in practice. The Career Centre team also offers:

• Job fares, company-speciﬁ c events and

‘job dating’ sessions in February, with over forty companies and hundreds of internship or job interviews organised on site.

The Career Centre advises over 400 students yearly through personalised interviews. It manages a database of 500+ internship and job offers for students, ranging from summer jobs to fulltime employment opportunities, and organises monthly meetings between students and professionals.

Since September 2014, the Faculty of Law has turned a corner in terms of learning and teaching methods in the ﬁ eld of Law. This new way of teaching, which breaks away from traditional methods, puts the student at the centre of their own education so they can be a real stakeholder in the process. The new method will be implemented over the following academic years.

Reﬂ ection, interactivity, analysis and practical application are the keywords of this new method.

Depuis la rentrée 2014, la Faculté de Droit a entamé un nouveau tournant en termes de méthodes d’apprentissage et d’enseignement du Droit. Cette pédagogie originale qui bouscule les schémas traditionnels place l’étudiant au cœur même de sa formation afi n qu’il en soit un véritable acteur. Celle-ci sera mise en place au fur et à mesure des années universitaires. La réﬂ exion, l’interactivité, l’esprit d’analyse et la mise en pratique sont les maîtres-mots de cette nouvelle méthode.

The International and European Law School (IELS) is a department of the Faculty encompassing all teaching and research activities oriented towards International Law, European Law and Comparative Law, in several languages, on the two Campuses of Lille and Paris.

L’International and European Law School (IELS) est un département de la Faculté regroupant la totalité des activités d’enseignement et de recherche orientées vers le droit inter- national, le droit européen et le droit comparé et ce en plusieurs langues sur les deux Campus de Lille et Paris.

Ce département se distingue par son caractère multilingue et multiculturel et par le caractère innovant, interactif et pratique des enseignements. Le corps professoral est composé d’enseignants et praticiens venant du monde entier confrontant nos étudiants à d’autres modes de pensée et de construction du raisonne- ment juridique. La volonté est de créer des juristes « acteurs » de leur formation, et non passifs dans l’apprentissage, capables de s’exporter, faisant de leur mobilité étudiante et professionnelle un véritable atout.

Un département international de recherche juridique au sein du C3RD

Le C3RD, centre de recherche de la Faculté de Droit, structure la recherche autour de deux grands axes que sont les risques du droit et la gestion du risque par le droit.

Ses 37 enseignants-chercheurs contri- buent à l’élaboration d’une théorie juridique du risque et collaborent avec les labora- toires de recherche et les entreprises situés en France et à l’international, intégrant la thématique du risque dans leurs champs d’études.

Le département droit international et européen a développé différents axes de recherche qui correspondent aux parcours (Licences/Masters) proposés par l’IELS :

An international legal research department within the C3RD

The C3RD, the Faculty of Law’s research centre, divides its research into two main areas:

risk in law and risk management through law.

help to develop a legal theory of risk and collaborate with research laboratories and businesses in France and abroad, incorporating the topic of risk into their ﬁ elds of study.

THE GLOBAL LEGAL NETWORK

The Law Faculty leads a European research network – called Global Legal Network (GLN) – specialised on the legal risks in international and European law. The GLN gathers over 50 researchers and professionals in Europe and coordinates their scien- tiﬁ c activities in order to participate to EU projects.

La faculté de droit dirige un réseau de recherche européen – intitulé Global Legal Network (GLN) – spécialisé dans les risques juridiques liés au droit international et européen. Le GLN regroupe plus de 50 chercheurs et professionnels du droit en Europe et coordonne leurs activités scien- tiﬁ ques en vue de participer à des projets de l’Union européenne.

2. During 3 years, the students follow 324

hours of lectures in German or Spanish law with Professors coming from well-known German or Spanish universities.

OBJECTIFS

AIMS

This Master’s is a bilingual course devoted to the study of the functioning of international society.

Its aim is to train lawyers with a real aware- ness of legal and geostrategic issues in the areas of Human rights, security and devel- opment. It also aims to prepare students to enter the world of international organisa- tions, specialist national institutions, NGOs or international ﬁ rms involved in related litigation.

OBJECTIFS

FORMER des juristes bilingues (français/anglais) dans les domaines intéressant les entreprises tournées vers l’international. Il propose une spécialité en droit des affaires et de la concur- rence à laquelle se livrent les entreprises sur les marchés nationaux et internationaux, à l’occa- sion des échanges commerciaux, de transferts de capitaux, de fusions ou d’acquisitions.

Spécificités du programme

• 50 % des cours en anglais

• Remise à niveau linguistique intensive en anglais ou en français pour les étudiants étrangers en septembre

• Participation de Visiting Professors ensei- gnant dans les universités ou institutions internationales

• Enseignements fondamentaux de droit international des affaires et de droit comparé avec des modules en droit des so- ciétes, droit des contrats, droit du commerce, droit de la concurrence...

• Droit en action : Les étudiants participent aux concours internationaux de plaidoirie, les fameuses « Moot Courts », devant les juridictions internationales

• Stages : 3 à 6 mois en M2 DIE dans une entreprise ou une organisation internationale.
