Access to digital resources from outside the UAB

ARE service allows access to subscribed electronic resources from any device with an internet connection located outside the UAB. To use it, it is necessary to be a member of the university community and respect the conditions of use of these resources.

Resources of current interest

More than 50.000 trial e-booksfrom Elsevier, Springer and Wiley Publishers. At the end of the year, Servei de Biblioteques, will select the most consulted titles for its acquisition and that will be a part of the UAB catalog.

Until June30 Elsevier offers some ClinicalKey products ClinicalKey Products testedfor free trial like ClinicalKey Physician, that offers you up-to-date medical content in English and Spanish, or ClinicalKey Student Medicine for take exams with more than 50.00 questions and answers using Assessments tab.

Cochrane Plus Library

Systematic reviews and meta-analysis of expert groups. Synthesizes information from clinical studies. It is what is known as Evidence-Based Medicine.

Medicine Digital resources

Codificación internacional de enfermedades, known internationally as ICD (International Classification of Diseases) allows you to code for diseases and health-related problems.

IBECS (Índice Bibliográfico Español)

Database prepared by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III in collaboration with the la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud that collects articles from more than 200 scientific-health journals published in Spain since 2000.

MedEs

Database containing articles from more than 100 Spanish journals in Medicine and Pharmacy.

Medline

Bibliographic database. It contains more than 25 million references, from 5,200 biomedical and life science publications, compiled by the National Library of Medicine of the United States of America from 1966 to the present.

PubMed

Portal with various medical databases (including Medline) created by the National Library of Medicine of the United States of America. Contains over 30 million peer-reviewed references and biomedical literature abstracts. It doesn’t provide the full text of the article, but it provides the link to it as long as it is open access and free.

Multidisciplinary databases

(With tools for monitoring, analysis and visualization of research)

Scopus

Multidisciplinary database containing articles published in more than 15,000 peer-reviewed journals from all areas of knowledge. It offers value-added services such as the SJR and SNIP indices that assess the quality of the journals, the creation of bibliographic alerts, as well as the analysis and production of graphs on the scientific production of an author (H index and citations received). It gives access to the summaries since 1966 and the complete references since 1995.

Web of Science

Set of multidisciplinary bibliographic and bibliometric databases. It allows thematic searches, by work or cited author, the consultation of bibliometric indicators (number of citations received, H index, impact factor of journals, graphs of scientific production, etc.). It includes, among other databases, Science Citation Index Expanded and Journal Citation Reports.

Digital books and magazines subscribed by the UAB

 Access to digital books and magazines

It allows searching for digital books and magazines by title, subject or ISBN / ISSN.

 ClinicalKey Student Medicine Database with more than 200 e-books, 850 video recordings and more than 60.000 pictures for the study and learning in Medicine (in Spanish).

 ClinicalKey Nursing platform in Spanish with e-books for the study and learning in Nursing.

 Harrison Medicine

Access to the full text of the book Harrison. Principios de Medicina Interna (in Spanish).

 JoVE

The first video magazine. The Journal of Visualized Experiments offers videos of scientific experiments from world reference laboratories.

DART Europe E-Theses Journal

It is an association of research libraries and library consortia working together to improve global access to European doctoral theses.

DDD UAB Digital Documental Repository

Collects, manages, disseminates and preserves the scientific, educational and administrative production of UAB.

DIALNET

Project led by the Universidad de La Rioja, with the participation of other Spanish universities, for the development of a database of journal summaries. The UAB collaborates in the project with the inclusion of summaries of some magazines of its funds. Members of the UAB community have access to the collection of summaries and can also sign up to receive alerts from magazines of their interest.

ProQuest dissertations & theses global

Database that allows to obtain the bibliographic data of the doctoral theses read around the world.

RECERCAT Research Depot of Catalonia

Cooperative repository in which the research literature of the universities and research centres of Catalonia can be consulted, such as articles, research papers / end of master's degree, work / projects, degree papers, conference papers, reports, working documents, etc.

TDX Online Doctoral Thesis

Cooperative repository that contains, in digital format, the doctoral theses read in the universities of Catalonia and other autonomous communities.

TESEO

Information on doctoral theses defended in Spanish universities since 1976.
