The Text

London, March 16th, 2013

Dear David,

Hello, how are you? I hope you are fine.

I am writing you today to tell you about my birthday party.

I celebrate my birthday every year and I organize a party. I usually invite my family and friends but this year, I will invite only a few schoolmates and my best friend Lilly because my house is quite small.

The guests arrive around 4 pm with plenty of presents. Lilly always buys me books because she’s fond of reading. But my schoolmates always buy me toys or CDs. Personally, I prefer the CD’s because I’m keen on playing

videogames and listening to music.

The party starts around 4.30 pm. First we have orange juice and

sandwiches. Then everybody goes into the garden. We play with my pets:

Rex and Rita, two cute bulldogs. In the garden there is a big table with chairs around it. On the table there is a big cake with twelve candles on it.

Everyone has a piece of cake and a glass of juice. Then I open my presents and Lilly takes pictures of us.

After that, we all dance and sing together. The boys often play football in the backyard of the house and the girls go upstairs and listen to music. But my parents go out for a while because they can’t stand the noise we make.

At 7 pm, the parents start picking up their children. Only Lilly leaves quite late.

I love my birthday party. It’s so much fun.

Write me soon and tell me about your birthday party.

Hugs and kisses Paul
