Class reader : Matilda by Roald Dahl with extracts from Harry Potter, Cider with Rosie, Poetry : Dossier: 6 poems to learn on the theme of school and family
Project : Analysis of book covers and creating own book covers Oral presentations on favourite book
Final task : Imagine your ideal school

Term 2 November/December Theme : War and children in War
Class reader : The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne with extracts from Anne Frank, When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit, Goodnight Mr Tom, Maus etc Poetry : Introduction to war poetry
Final task : Prepare and present a war dossier with photos, poems and extracts from your reading.
