Appel à contribution pour un dossier thématique de Mappemonde
« Cartographie et Innovation » (english below)
Dans le cadre de la session du dernier colloque du CIST « Représenter les territoires » une session intitulée «Images cartographiques et géovisualisation pour une représentation innovante des territoires » a eu lieu. Cette session a permis de revenir sur des modes de représentations spécifiques, d’explorer l’expressivité des cartes mais aussi de tenter de nouvelles logiques de représentations (changer les mailles, changer les données, intégrer l’utilisateur de la carte). Cette session a été l’occasion de lancer un débat autour du sens de l’innovation en cartographie.
Débat que nous souhaitons poursuivre avec un ensemble plus large de de géographes/cartographes. Nous faisons donc un appel à contributions autour de cette question, sous la forme de quelques orientations mais que vous pouvez bien sûr décliner comme vous avez envie :
- Au-delà de la question des hypothèses liées aux choix de la représentation et de leur complémentarité, la question de l’innovation a-t-elle du sens en cartographie ? De quoi s’agit-il ?
- Comment et pourquoi peut-on poser la question de l’innovation en cartographie ?
- Est-elle source d’amélioration des représentations ?
- Concerne-t-elle uniquement la cartographie ou est-ce une question purement géomatique ? Technique ?
- Pratique ou représentation innovante ? technologie innovante ?
- Quel(s) lien(s) avec l’interopérabilité ? Le temps ? La multiplication des points de vue de représentation ?
- Quelle influence sur la lisibilité des résultats de recherche et l’émergence d’une nouvelle connaissance (ou d’une connaissance plus précise) sur les territoires et leur fonctionnement ?
- Cartographie des innovations ou cartographie innovante : quel(s) rapport(s) ?
- L’innovation cartographique est-elle une question d’usage ou de technologie ?
- L’innovation est-elle attachée au projet cartographique ou à sa réalisation ?
- Comment l’histoire a-t-elle porté les innovations cartographiques ?
INSTRUCTIONS AUX AUTEURS
Les contributions peuvent revêtir différentes formes : texte long ; texte courts ; images commentées ; discussion autour d’un ou plusieurs ouvrages ; etc. Les propositions d’articles allieront des aspects théoriques et/ou des analyses empiriques. Tous les styles de cartographie/géomatique sont possibles y compris les aspects plus graphiques ou plus techniques. L’objectif étant de faire réellement émerger une compréhension du sens de l’innovation en cartographie.

15 février 2019 : date limite d’envoi des résumés des propositions 10 mars 2019: retours aux auteurs
15 juin 2019 : date limite des versions longues / finales pour être distribuées aux évaluateurs au comité de rédaction du 21 juin 2019.

Call for contributions for a thematic dossier
"Mapping and Innovation"
As part of the session of the last CIST symposium "Representing the territories", a session entitled "Cartographic images and geovisualization for an innovative representation of territories" was held. This session made it possible to come back to specific modes of representation, to explore the expressiveness of the maps but also to try new logics of representations (changes the meshes, change the data, integrate the user of the map). This session was an opportunity to launch a debate on the meaning of innovation in cartography.
We would like to continue this debate and therefore we are calling for contributions on this issue, in the form of some guidelines but which you can of course decline as you wish:
- Beyond the question of hypotheses related to the choice of representation and their complementarity, does the question of innovation make sense in cartography? What is it about?
- How and why can we ask the question of innovation in cartography?
- Is it a source of improvement in representations?
- Is it only about mapping or is it a purely geomatics issue? Technical?
- Innovative practice or representation? Innovative technology?
- What is (are) the link(s) with interoperability? Time?
- Multiplication of points of view of representation does make it sense?
- What influence on the readability of research results and the emergence of new (or more precise) knowledge on territories and their functioning?
- Mapping of innovations or innovative mapping: which report(s)?
- Is cartographic innovation a question of use or technology?
- Is the innovation attached to the cartographic project or its realization?
- How did history drive cartographic innovations?
INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS
Contributions can take different forms: long text; short text; commented images; discussion around one or more works; etc. The proposed papers will combine theoretical aspects and/or empirical analyses. All cartographic/geomatic styles are possible, including more graphic or technical aspects. The objective is to really develop an understanding of the meaning of innovation in cartography.
