NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF WAVE PROPAGATION IN WELD JOINTS

INCLUDING A FLAW

Morad Grimes, Sofiane Haddad, Toufik Benkedidah

Abstract : In this study, the process of wave propagation in weld joints including a flaw was simulated using elastic finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method and a digitized cross-section photograph of actual test object as input data. In order to distinguish the different elements constituting the experiment (transducer, wedge of a probe, test object), different colors are assigned to these different materials. Each color contains information on material parameters, such as the velocity of longitudinal and transversal waves, and the material density

De plus, les frais d’entretien sont moins élevés dans les installations utilisant l’acide sulfurique, c'est le procédé le plus utilisé, tandis que la deuxième

Since for the honeycomb thin layer, the membrane and bending waves are coupled, it is not as easy as in the 2D periodic hexagonal beam network case to compare the Bloch

Its simplicity stems from the fact that it treats directly the impinging waves on each node of a lattice and describes the scattering event, in the time domain, by a scattering

figure 3g has nothing to do with the original lattice but is drawn for the purpose of representation... a) Fourier transform of the wave amplitude time dependence at the origin as

This paper presents a numerical model of lamb wave propagation in a homogenous steel plate using elastodynamic finite integration technique (EFIT) as well as its validation

Such physical parameters can be evaluated using Biot–Stoll model [3], [7], [8], [11], [32]. The Biot–Stoll model is widely used and a useful tool to analyze the acoustic
