PREFACE  

This  volume  contains  the  papers  presented  at  FOMI  2014:  Sixth  Workshop  on  

Foundational  Ontologies  Meet  Industry  held  on  September  22nd,  2014  in  Rio  de  Janeiro,  Brazil.  FOMI is an international forum where academic researchers and industrial practitioners meet to analyse and discuss application issues related to methods, theories, tools and applications based on formal ontologies. This volume contains seven peer reviewed articles that were presented at the workshop. In addition, the workshop featured an invited talk by Mara Abel on the use of ontologies in the petroleum industry and a panel discussion.
