AWARD OF Dr A. T. SHOUSHA FOUNDATION PRIZE

Following the recommendation of the Dr AT. Shousha Foundation Committee at the Forty-fifth Session of the Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, the Executive Board awarded the Dr AT. Shousha Foundation prize for 1999, by decision EB 103(8), to Dr Ali Benomar for his most significant contribution in the field of clinical neurogenetics in the geographical area in which Dr AT. Shousha served the World Health Organization. At the Forty-sixth Session of the Regional Committee it will be the pleasant task of the Chairman to present this prize to Dr Ali Benomar.

The Dr AT. Shousha Foundation Committee is also scheduled to meet during the Forty-sixth Session of the Regional Committee to consider nominations for the prize for the year 2000. In accordance with the Statutes, the Committee shall be composed of the following members: the Chairman and two Vice-Chairmen of the Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean and the Chairman of its Technical Discussions.
