A new year, a new start

2020 had been for every one of us a year we will not forget for many reasons.
Even if the first months of this year continued to be a roller coaster, we do hope 2021, the year of the Metal Ox, will bring us more peace and luck.

International Ostomy Guideline (IOG) 2020 15 recommendation statements;
they can be found for free on our website. If you are interested in translating these 15 recommendation statements into a language other than English please contact Laurent Chabal at [email protected]. The full version of the WCET® IOG 2020 is now available for purchase from our online store.
As the WCET® Publications & Communications Committee has been dissolved to eliminate duplication, the website page which was under this Committee had to be moved around. You will now find:
• The WCET® Logo Use and Form and the WCET® Country Travel Cards can be found under the WCET® Education Committee sub tab.
• All the pages related to the BullETin and the IOG can be found under a new tab called WCET® Publications which includes pages related to the Journal.
WCET® International Delegates had until 18th March to discuss the new proposed constitution change (posted on the Member Only Library) with
their WCET® Country members before being invited to vote. They then had until 6th April 2021 to cast their vote. Thanks for making your voice heard and for your participation by voting.
After having to fix the hack we had on our virtual General Business Meeting and Worldwide Educational webinar, we have to also face the problem of PayPal when members are looking to renew. With the help of our new company management we have been working on it. We have made another important decision regarding our internet provider as it seems difficult to get any other options.
For a while we have been struggling with PayPal and our website. Many tries have been made over the past years to see if it could be improved but it seemed we were not able to be helped on that. Most members waited to see us face to face at congresses to pay their fee, but with this pandemic crisis internet online payment issues have been even more crucial. Taking the opportunity of the change of our company management and with their advice, we have decided to move to another association management system (AMS), an all inclusive one called YourMembership (www.WCETn.org), which we do hope you will appreciate.
Regarding the Joint Biennial Congress in Glasgow, Scotland, UK, postponed initially to October 2021, the still running pandemic has caused us to reconsider the safety of running this event. In coordination with ASCN- UK, a final decision had been made to move it to 2024.
Announcement of the 2022 Congress will come soon.

21st February 2021 was a great day for stomal therapy and ET nursing as SOBEST won the JWC WUWHS bronze award for the most progressive Society and WCET® won the gold award. All winners are acknowledged in this issue.
Last, but hopefully not least, great news to share; we are really pleased to announce that after a year of trial we will be able to continue to provide the Portuguese, Spanish and Chinese version of the WCET® Journal in 2021. Thank you for the very generous financial support from Calmoseptine® and Coloplast which has made this possible. We are working hard to be able find a sponsor to provide the French version of the WCET® Journal.
Professional translation is expensive. If any industry member is interested to help us to make this happen, do please contact Greg Paull our Publisher.
When working together on WCET® 2020 milestones, we have had a fond look back at some documents from the past. It was interesting to look at them now, after having celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2018, the
100th anniversary of Norma and the 40th anniversary of the Journal last year, as we move into 2021. Warm thanks to Dianne Garde to have given us back all the paper copies and material she had from the very start of the WCET®.
Thanks to our past company management, Hauck and Associates, for their support over the past 6 years. We were sorry to say goodbye to Jen Wood and wish her well. We welcome our new one – McKenna Management. We will learn more about it and meet some people behind the scenes in this BullETin issue.

Pour tous, 2020 a été une année que nous n’oublierons pas pour de nombreuses raisons. Même si les premiers mois de cette année ont continué à être un sacré grand huit, nous espérons que 2021, l’année du buffle de métal, nous apportera plus de paix et de chance.
Un grand merci à Julie Weng, Heidi Hevia Campos, Pr Sandra Marina Gonçalves Bezerra and leurs collègues pour la traduction en chinois, espagnol et portugais de nos 15 recommandations des recommandations internationales du WCET® 2020. Elles sont disponibles en ligne sur notre site web. Si vous voulez traduire ces 15 recommandations dans votre langue, merci de contacter Laurent Chabal à presidentelect@wcetn.

Comme la commission Publications & Communications du WCET® a été dissolue et afin d’éviter des répétitions, les pages du site web qui étaient sous cette commission ont été réattribuées.
• Les modalités d’utilisation de notre logo et son formulaire, ainsi que les passeports du WCET® sont maintenant sous la rubrique de la commission Education du WCET®.
• Toutes les pages reliées au BullETin et sur les recommandations internationales ont été mises sous un nouvel onglet appelé Publications du WCET® qui inclut les pages reliées au Journal.
Les Délégués Internationaux du WCET® avaient jusqu’au 18 mars pour discuter des propositions de changement
de la constitution (mises en ligne dans la Librairie pour les membres) avec les membres du WCET® de leur pays avant d’être invités à voter sur celles-ci. Ils ont eu jusqu’au 6 avril 2021 pour voter. Merci pour avoir fait entendre votre voix et de votre participation à ce vote important.
Après avoir réglé les problèmes informatiques que nous avons eu avec votre assemblée générale virtuelle et notre séminaire en ligne d’éducation mondiale, nous avons dû faire face à des problèmes avec PayPal alors que nos membres cherchaient à renouveler leur cotisation. Avec l’aide de notre nouvelle compagnie de management, nous avons travaillé à trouver une solution valide. Cela nous a amené prendre une autre décision importante concernant notre plateforme informatique alors que peu d’options étaient envisageables avec l’ancienne plateforme.
Depuis déjà un moment nous avons/vous avez des problèmes avec PayPal et le site web. Plusieurs tentatives avaient été menées les années passées pour voir si nous pouvions améliorer cela, mais sans succès.
La plupart de nos membres attendaient de nous voir en face à face, lors de congrès, pour payer leurs cotisations.
La pandémie mondiale a rendu le payement en ligne indispensable. Nous avons donc saisi l’opportunité du changement de compagnie de management et de leur avis, pour changer de système de gestion associative (SGA) et de plateforme internet. Ce système tout en un s’appelle YourMembership (www.WCETn.org). Nous espérons que vous l’apprécierez.
Concernant notre congrès biennal jumelé à Glasgow, en Ecosse, au Royaume Uni, initialement déplacé en Octobre 2021, la pandémie toujours en cours nous a forcé à reconsidérer cet évènement pour des raisons de sécurité. En coordination avec nos collègues d’ASCN- UK, nous avons décidé de déplacer ce congrès en 2024.
Une annonce concernant notre congrès 2022 sera faite très prochainement, alors restez connectés.
Le 21 février 2021 aura été un grand jour pour la stomathérapie et les soins aux personnes stomisées.
SOBEST a gagné le prix de Bronze des sociétés les plus progressive du Journal des Soins de Plaies et de l’Union Mondiale des Associations de Soins de Plaies, alors que le WCET® en a gagné l’Or dans cette catégorie. Tous les gagnants sont félicités dans ce numéro.
Dernière nouvelle et pas de moindre à partager: nous sommes ravis d’annoncer qu’après une année d’essai, nous sommes en mesure de continuer de produire le Journal en espagnol, en portugais et chinois pour 2021. Nous tenons à remercier chaleureusement Calmoseptine® et Coloplast pour leur soutien financier qui nous a permis de le faire. Nous travaillons d’arrache-
pied pour trouver un sponsor qui nous permette de produire la version française du Journal du WCET®. Une traduction professionnelle est excessivement chère.
Toute industrie qui serait intéressée à nous aider à rendre cela possible, merci de contact Greg Paull, notre éditeur.
Alors que nous travaillions ensemble sur les évènements marquants de 2020 pour le WCET®, nous avons retrouvé des documents du passé. Ce fut très intéressant de les retrouver maintenant alors que nous avions fêté notre 40ème anniversaire en 2018, les 100 ans qu’aurait eu Norma et les 40 ans du Journal célébrés l’année passée.

2020 ha sido para cada uno de nosotros un año que no olvidaremos por muchas razones. Incluso si los primeros meses de este año siguieron siendo una montaña rusa, esperamos que 2021, el año del Buey de Metal, nos traiga más paz y suerte.
Muchas gracias a Julie Weng, Heidi Hevia Campos, Pr Sandra Marina Gonçalves Bezerra por su traducción al chino, español y portugués de nuestras 15 declaraciones de recomendación WCET® International Ostomy Guideline (IOG) 2020, que se pueden encontrar de forma gratuita en nuestro sitio web. Con respecto al congreso bienal conjunto en Glasgow, Escocia, Reino Unido, pospuesto inicialmente para octubre de 2021, la pandemia que aún continúa ha hecho que reconsideremos la seguridad de llevar a cabo este evento. En coordinación con ASCN-UK, se tomó una decisión final para trasladarlo a 2024. El anuncio del Congreso de 2022 llegará pronto. Estén atentos.

bullETin from the WCET® Journal
The bullETin is now the official magazine of WCET®
members; however, it is still designed to be a newsletter. It is a vehicle for members to communicate with other WCET® members what is happening in their country. It is not and will not be a peer reviewed publication. That is the purpose of our scientific publication, the WCET® Journal. While information and articles submitted to the bullETin are not peer reviewed in terms of content, scientific relevance or adequacy of results or conclusions, copy editing for language is done. Referencing is Vancouver style.
