PRESENTED BY THE DELEGATION FROM GREECE RELATING TO THE ASSISTANCE TO BE GIVEN

TO DISPLACED PERSONS Ш THAT COUNTRY

The Second World Health Assembly,

Deeply touched by the statement made by the Delegate from Greece on the situation of 700,000 inhabitants of this country - one tenth of the whole population - who have been compelled to leave their homes owing to the events,

Considering the sufferings to which this population is submitted, Considering the precarious state of their material and moral situation, resulting from the insufficiency of their food rationing and the impossibility of giving them even the slightest shelter,

Considering the disastrous consequences of such a situation from the point of view of their health as well as the risks of the breaking out of epidemics in the regions in question,

Draws the attention of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to this situation, so that the United Nations, as well as its specialized agencies, be respectively invited to do all in their power to relieve i t .
