What are the aims of Intergeo?
Although many examples of helpful activities exist, interactive geometry software is still not used regularly in classrooms.
Intergeo will attack the three main barriers for a
EU-wide adoption of the existing material:
• missing search facilities,
• lack of interoperability, and
• missing quality information.

Quality
Intergeo will offer content ready for reuse, with clear licenses, in a searchable and
metadata-tagged portal. Intergeo will map the curriculum requirements of each country of the EU to the system.
Intergeo Repository: Implementation
• a central web-platform to share geometric constructions
• phase 1: just links and shallow annotations
• phase 2: Curriki platform, own metadata schema
• phase 3:
• rich construction services
(preview, play, easy upload, …)
• quality rating
• in 2010:
• serve all European countries
• about 30 000 registrants
Intergeo Repository: Annotate and Search
• British teacher searching “enlargement 9th” should find the construction.
• French teacher searching “Thalès 3ème” should find the construction.
But:
• British teacher searching “Thales”
should not find the construction.
Intergeo Repository: Annotate and Search
• cross-curriculum “language of annotations”
• all curricula mapped
• much fuzziness
• metadata schema
reducing LOM & replacing too fuzzy slots
• ontology for geometric competencies
• competencies are of the form “verb (some- topic)”
• topics are linked to each other
• topics and competencies have aliases
• educational-levels, usage-type, …
Intergeo Repository: Annotate and Search
• constructions are annotated with a small form
• mostly inputting competencies and topics
• helped by context and collections to pre-fill metadata
• search by topics, competencies and other slots
• search and input supported by “skills-text-box”
auto-completion-based access to semantic nodes (with documentation)

Quality
Intergeo will enable users to use their
software of choice by specifying a common data transfer format based on open
standards, that can and will be implemented both by commercial and open source
developers.

Quality
Intergeo will test the available material in the classroom. All stakeholders, software teams, resource authors, teachers and learners will be involved, in order to promote quality
enhancement cycles through peer reviews,
How can I participate?
Intergeo is constantly looking for
