CORRIGENDUM

SLOPES OF MODULAR FORMS AND CONGRUENCES

by Douglas L. ULMER

(Article paru dans Ie tome 46 (1996), fascicule 1, pp. 1-32)

The second full paragraph on page 6 should begin "On the other hand, every normalized eigenform of weight 2 and level pN is congruent after a twist to a form of level N and weight w with 2 < w < p + 1". (The words "after a twist" are missing in the published version.)

Also, in Remark 2) of page 9 "character ( - » should be replaced with "character ^".

It is a pleasure to thank Chandrashekhar Khare and Barry Mazur for bringing these problems to my attention.

Tucson, Sept. 24'96.

Douglas L. ULMER, University of Arizona Department of Mathematics Tucson AZ 85721 (USA).
