Call for Abstracts: International Conference of young researchers in Philosophy of Law
The Institut Michel Villey (Université Panthéon-Assas Paris II) and NoSoPhi (PhiCo, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne) have the pleasure to announce the first annual International Conference of young researchers in Philosophy of Law which will be held in Paris on 15-16 January 2016.
This conference seeks to bring together PhD students and early-career researchers who share a theoretical or philosophical approach to legal studies. The main aim of the conference is to foster discussion between young scholars and researchers from different disciplinary fields by giving them the opportunity to present their work to their peers.
Scholars and researchers from all branches of law or philosophy are welcome to submit their contributions in French or in English. The conference itself will be held in both languages.
Contributions can cover a large scope of themes (theory of norms, theory of legal institutions, global law, authority and legitimacy, positivism and natural law theories, analytical jurisprudence, sociological and historical approaches to law, sanctions and retribution).
Applications can be in French or in English and should be submitted by 2 May 2015 to:
journees.droit.philosophie@gmail. They should include an abstract of no more than 1.000 words and a short note stating the candidate’s thesis title and institutional affiliation.
A selection committee of academics in law and philosophy will anonymously review the submitted abstracts. The candidates will be notified of the committee’s decision by early July 2015.
