cri6que. – Marvin Minsky
AI et Machine Learning
• Machine learning is a science of the ar6ficial
intelligence. The field's main objects of study are ar6facts, specifically algorithms that improve their performance with experience. -Langley(1996)
• Machine Learning is the study of computer
algorithms that improve automa6cally through experience. - Tom Mitchell (1997)
• Machine learning is programming computers to
op6mize a performance criterion using example data or past experience. -Alpaydin(2004)
IA et Alan Turing
• Alan Turing (1912-‐1954) est un mathéma6cien et
cryptologue britannique, auteur de travaux qui fondent scien6fiquement l'informa6que et ini6alise
l'intelligence ar6ficielle.
“Intelligent Machinery, A Here6cal Theory"
• ‘You cannot make a machine to think for you.’ This is a commonplace that is usually accepted without
ques6on
• My conten6on is that machines can be constructed which will simulate the behaviour of the human mind very closely. They will make mistakes at 6mes, and at 6mes they may make new and very interes6ng
statements, and on the whole the output of them will be worth a]en6on to the same sort of extent as the output of a human mind.
“Intelligent Machinery, A Here6cal Theory"
• If the machine were able in some way to ‘learn by experience’ it would be much more impressive. If this were the case there seems to be no real reason why one should not start from a compara6vely
simple machine, and, by subjec6ng it to a suitable
range of ‘experience’ transform it into one which was more elaborate, and was able to deal with a far
greater range of con6ngencies. This process could probably be hastened by a suitable selec6on of the experiences to which it was subjected. This might be called ‘educa5on’.
