‡Abstract
Curved thin films made of non simple material of second grade. We consider a curved thin film made of a non simple second grade mate-rial. The behavior of the film is described by a non convex bulk energy depending on the second order derivatives of the deformation. When the thickness of the curved film goes to zero, we show using Γ-convergence ar-guments that the quasiminimizers of the threedimensional energy converge to the minimizers of an energy whose density has been ’A-quasiconvexified’ depending on a two-dimensional deformation and a Cosserat vector. R´esum´e
Pour citer cet article : G. form e Ωh=x ∈ R3, ∃ex ∈ eS, x =ex + η a3 ψ −1( e x) with −h 2 < η < h 2 , (1) where eS is the curved midsurface of the film, a3 ψ−1(x)e is the unit vector
normal to eS at the pointex, and h is the thickness of the film.
The behavior of the thin film undergoing a deformation ϕ is described bye the bulk interfacial energyeehbelow:
e eh(ϕ) =e Z e Ωh W (∇2ϕ)dx,e (2)
where W is a continuous stored energy function satisfying standard growth and coercivity hypotheses and a lipschitz type continuity assumption, ∇2ϕ is thee 3 × 3 × 3 tensor of second derivatives.
In this work, we analyze the asymptotic behavior of the total energy and its infimizers over a set of admissible deformations eV of the form
e
V = {ϕ ∈ He 2(eΩh; R3), ϕ(ex) =e ex on eΓh}, (3) when the thickness of the film h goes to zero, where eΓh represents the lateral
surface of eΩh.
We begin the study by rescaling the energy in order to perform our analy-sis on a domain independent of the thickness h. Then, we study the behavior of the infimizers of the energy when the thickness vanishes. We show, using Γ-convergence arguments (see [3]), that the infimizers of the rescaled energy converge to the minimizers of an energy depending on a two-dimensional defor-mation and on one Cosserat vector field.
It is worthwhile to mention that the lack of convexity in the 3D energy density in (2) leads to a 2D integrand which ensures lower semicontinuity of the limit energy, namely the 2D energy density turns out to be A-quasiconvex (see [4], [2] for general lower semicontinuity and relaxation results and [11], [5] for explicit formulation of the operator A in the framework of grade two materials), in agreement with the first order case considered by [8].

e eh(ϕ) =e Z e Ωh W (∇2ϕ)dx,e (5) o`u ∇2 e
e(h)(ϕ) = R Ω1W h ∇2 pϕ + 1 h(e3⊗ ∇pϕ,3+ ∇pϕ,3⊗ e3) + 1 h2ϕ,33⊗ e3⊗ e3⊗Ah T ⊗Ah +∇pϕ +h1ϕ,3⊗ e3⊗∇2Ψ−1 Ψ(x1, x2, hx3) i dh(x)dx
o`u ϕ,i, ϕ,ij d´esignent respectivement la d´eriv´ee premi`ere par rapport `a la i`eme
variable et la d´eriv´ee seconde par rapport `a la i`eme et j`eme variable de ϕ, et o`u l’on a pos´e dh(x) = det ∇Ψ(x1, x2, hx3) et Ah(x) = ∇Ψ−1 Ψ(x1, x2, hx3).
On a aussi utilis´e les notations ∇pϕ = ϕ,α⊗ eαet ∇2pϕ = ϕ,αβ⊗ eβ⊗ eβ. Enfin,
e(h)(ϕ(h)) = min

Consid´erons une collection d’op´erateurs lin´eaires A(i) ∈ Lin(Ed, El), i =
1, . . . , N , o`u Ed et El d´esignent deux espaces vectoriels r´eels de dimensions d et l respectivement, et on definit Av := N X i=1 A(i)∂v ∂xi , v : EN → Ed, A(w) := N X i=1 A(i)wi∈ Lin(Ed, El), w ∈ EN,
QAf (v) := inf Z Q f (v + w(x))dx : w ∈ Cper∞(RN; Rd) ∩ KerA, Z Q w(y)dy = 0 , (o`u Q d´esigne le cube unit´e de RN).
rattach´ee `a l’op´erateur diff´erentiel A2:= (A2

QAW0(x, F , z, h, ξ) := inf n R Q2W0(x, F , z, h + D 2 pu, ξ + Dpv) : u, v ∈ Cper∞(Q2; R3) o . Soit ϕ0∈ W2,p(Ω
1, R3) tel que ϕ0,3= 0 et b ∈ W1,p(Ω1, R3) tel que b,3= 0 et
E∗(0)(ϕ0, b) = Z ω QAW0(x, D2pϕ 0, D pb, Dpϕ0, b)d0(x)dx (14)
