The totalquantities

show the samechanges,

and a similar value in the ileum. This is a clas- sic result and it allows the conclusion to be made that there is anadaptation
similar to that obser- ved forpancreatic amylase.
On the otherhand,

of the enzymes,our results differ from those of
D AHLQUIST ( 19 6 1 )
who worked ononly
a small number of animals.Lactase evolves in
a- particular
manner i.egalactosidase activity

been derived from measurements on theenzymatic activity

the resultspresented
here allow theprincipal phenomena
of thedevelopment
ofthe
piglet during
thesuckling period
and atweaning
to bespecified. One
can consider that thisperiod
is characterized notonly anatomically by
the increase inweight
of 2digestive
organs, the pancreas and theintestine,
but alsoby
an increase inenzymatic activity.

autre que l’aliment. Ces activités sontcependant légèrement supérieures

present study
was to examine thehypothesis
of anadaptation

pancreas
of thesuckling young
rabbit to the variations in thecomposition
of the dietat

expe- rimental diets :i.

with a starchdiet.

of the 4 mainpancreatic digestive
enzymes wasperformed
at 9stages
between 7and 42

Thelipasic, amylasic, trypsic

activities were dosed on pancrea- tichomogenates.
Whatever the
experimental diet,
all theenzymatic
activities show an increase about the24

This seems to indicate the existence of another factor than that of thediet stimulating
