Un nouveau mode de gisement d'albitite dans le massif ophiolitique du Montgenèvre (Hautes-Alpes, France)

Abstract
A new type of occurrence of albitite found in the southern slopes of the Chenaillet peak (Montgenèvre ophiolite) is described. This albitite is compared with other similar rocks in the massif. The most interesing feature of this new outcrop is the presence of a dyke of albitite clearly intruding a partly flaserized and amphibolitized gabbro. A dyke of diabase also appears between the albitite and the gabbro. Field and microscopic investigations show that this dyke is younger than the albitite and quite similar to the numerous diabase dykes cutting the gabbro of the south-west Chenaillet ridge.
