OF IMPURECRYSTALS

Résumé. 2014 1. Si la
fréquence
de la lumière incidente estbeaucoup plus
voisine desfréquences d’absorption
des centresd’impuretés
que de cellesdu
cristal pur, la structure vibrationnelle duspectre
Ramanpeut
alcalins.
2. On montre que les
spectres
Ramanauraient,
dansl’approximation adiabatique
de Born-Oppenheimer,
une structure vibrationnellequasi linéaire, analogue
à celle desspectres d’absorp-
tion
(ou
deluminescence).
En l’absence de modeslocaux,
lespectre
se compose de raiesfines,
sans action des
phonons (analogues,
pour lespectre Raman,
à la raie deMössbauer)
et d’une bande due auxphonons, beaucoup plus large (analogue
auxélargissements
parphonons
vibrationnelle
n’estplus monotone,
et l’intensité maximale necorrespond plus
à une raie devibration dont la
fréquenee
diffère de n03C9 de celle de la lumièreincidente,
03C9 étant lafréquence
dumode local et n un
entier, plus grand
que 1.4. On compare les conclusions
théoriques
avec les résultatsexpérimentaux
de Stekhanov etEliashberg,
pour les cristauximpurs d’halogénures
alcalins.Abstract. 2014 1. If the
frequency
of the incidentlight
isconsiderably
closer to thefrequencies
ofimpurity
centres than to those absorbedby
the purecrystal,
the vibrational structure of the Ramanspectra
may beappreciably
determinedby
the localdynamics
of the lattice and the vibronic interaction in theimpurity
centre. For lack of the first order Ramanspectrum
of the purecrystal
the matrix conditions of
observing
this vibrational structure are favourable insystems
such asimpure
alkali-halidecrystals.
2. It is shown that the Raman
spectra
would have in theBorn-Oppenheimer
adiabaticapproxi-
mation
quasi
linear vibrational structureanalogous
to that of theabsorption (luminescence) spectra :
in the absence of local modes thespectrum
consists of asharp no-phonon
line(the
Ramananalogue
of the Mössbauerline)
and of aconsiderably
widerphonon
band(the
Ramananalogue
of the
phonon wing
of the Mössbauerline) ;
a local(or pseudo-local)
mode causes in addition to thisaspect
a series of vibrational lines.3. For various models of the
impurity
centre theintensity
distribution andtemperature depen-
dence of the vibrational structure are calculated.
If the
frequency
of the incidentlight
is close to the maximum of theimpurity absorption
bandand the Stokes-shift is
appreciable,
the distribution of theintensity
in a vibrational series is nolonger
monotonic and the maximumintensity
will nowbelong
to a vibrational line whosefrequency
differs from the
frequency
of the incidentlight by
n03C9, where 03C9 is thefrequency
of the local modeand n is an
integer, n >
1.4. The theoretical conclusions are
compared
with theexperimental
results of Stekhanov andEliashberg
on the Ramanspectra
ofimpure
alkali-halidecrystals.
