COMMITTEE ON PROGRAMME

Report of the Working Party on Venereal Diseases

The working party held two meetings on 7 July, in order to

consider, at the request of the Committee on Programme, the Resfilutipn_

adopted by the Executive Board of the International Alliance_pf

Women, document A-21-, the dra ib-re scjjxi^cw- submitted -by "the-. Delegation of Mexico, document A/Prog/15, and proposals by the Roumanian

Delegation; and to draft a Resolution on Venereal Diseases for presentation-te' the Committee on Programme with a view to eventual presentation to the World Health Assembly.

The working party consisted of representatives from the following countries:

Belgium Mexico Bulgaria Poland Czechoslovakia United Kingdom France United States Holland USSR

Iraq

and legal experts from the following countries:

Egypt United Kingdom Switzerland United States

(a representative from Hungary also attended the first part of the meeting)

The representative of France was elected Chairman.

the items which it should contain, drafting sub-group, consisting of the

The drafting sub-group of the working party held a meeting on 7 July and the draft resolution was unanimously approved by the members of the forking party at its second meeting the same day, document A/Prog/47.

With certain revisions, the final draft resolution approved by the Working party, document A/Prog/47.rev.l, is hereby submitted to the Chairman of the Committee on Programme for its consideration for eventual presentation to the Assembly.
